Line by Line

Line by Line

Each day on the farm was passed
With hours spent doing chores,
Yet her fingertips found the time
To escape with the keys of black and white.

With youth,
The world was at her fingertips
The roads of the earth became
The lines of her palm.

She grasped every moment
And accepted it into her life,
No regrets because moments,
They just happen.

With age,
Childhood dreams
Of a life as a teacher
Took a new form
With a life as a nurse.

Her previous days
Of taking care of her siblings
Transitioned into her love
Of the peaceful newborns in the nursery.

With love,
A blind date
Brought a new life
That reshaped light
And formed her own children.

Her life is full
Through her offspring
And their own.

A legacy,
Written in the lines of their hands.

With Gratitude,

Nimrat and Natalie
